Nongshim RedForce and its LCK roster mutually part ways

Nongshim RedForce Parts Ways with Entire League of Legends Team

The entire League of Legends team of Nongshim RedForce has been released, according to an official announcement made today. This includes top laner Kim “Canna” Chang-dong, jungler Lee “Dread” Jin-hyeok, mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong, ADC Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun, support Lee “Effort” Sang-ho, support No “SnowFlower” Hoi-jong, and coach Lim “Comet” Hye-seong, all of whom are now free agents ahead of the offseason.

NS RedForce expressed their gratitude to the players on social media, thanking them for their contributions throughout 2022 and wishing them success in their future endeavors.

The team was assembled at the end of 2021 with high expectations due to the caliber of players brought in. Canna joined directly from T1, while Effort had a solid season with Liiv SANDBOX before joining NS RedForce. Bdd and Ghost previously played for Gen.G and DWG KIA, respectively, while Dread performed well on Afreeca Freecs.

However, the team struggled to find synergy, and despite being considered a playoff team, they were never in contention for a top-six finish. NS RedForce finished both splits of the LCK 2022 season in eighth place, with a 5-13 record in each split.

Head coach Heo “Irean” Yeong-cheol will now be tasked with building a new roster for the 2023 season. He joined the organization in April and has a contract that runs until 2024.

Given the current pool of free agents in the LCK, NS RedForce should have no trouble fielding a new roster. However, the organization will undoubtedly aim for better results in 2023 to avoid a repeat of their performance in 2022.
