Nongshim RedForce and head coach sBs mutually part ways; Irean joins as new coach

Nongshim RedForce Parts Ways with Head Coach

Nongshim RedForce, the League of Legends team, has announced the departure of Bae “sBs” Ji-hun, their head coach.

The 29-year-old coach had been with the team since 2019 when it was known as Team Dynamics. Under sBs’s leadership, the team achieved a fourth-place finish in the 2021 LCK Summer Split playoffs.

However, Nongshim RedForce struggled in the recent split, finishing in eighth place in the 2022 LCK Spring Split, despite having a talented roster including Canna, Dread, Bdd, Ghost, and Effort.

The team wasted no time in finding a replacement for sBs. Heo “Irean” Yeong-cheol, an experienced coach, has been signed until 2024.

Irean has previously coached teams such as Team Vitality in the LEC and Counter Logic Gaming and Evil Geniuses in the LCS. He has also participated in two League of Legends World Championships with SuperMassive and Galatasaray Esports in 2018 and 2021 respectively.

With the new coach on board, NS RedForce now has time to make changes before the start of the 2022 LCK Summer Split, which is expected to begin in June after the conclusion of MSI 2022.
