Nocturne receives additional buffs in Patch 8.6

Nocturne Buffs Coming in Next Patch

Additional buffs for Nocturne are set to arrive in the next patch, despite recent changes that were implemented last week.

In Patch 8.5, Nocturne’s utility was increased. To avoid over-tuning, Riot initially focused on utilitarian changes rather than raw damage buffs, as increasing damage can easily turn a weak champion into an overpowered one.

The changes included an increase in missile speed for his Q, duration of his ult’s darkness, as well as improvements to his passive healing and cooldown refund. These changes have proven effective, pushing Nocturne from being one of the weakest junglers to a solid top-15 choice, as reported by League of Legends stats site Champion.gg.

However, Riot believes that these changes weren’t enough and is planning a more direct damage buff in the upcoming 8.6 patch, provided that the changes pass testing without being reverted.

The focus of the buff will be on Nocturne’s ultimate ability, Paranoia, which already provides a significant power spike when off cooldown. The bonus AD scaling on the ability will be increased by a massive 30 percent, meaning Nocturne’s bonus damage will scale with 150 percent of his bonus AD, up from 120. This change alone can result in a significant damage increase, particularly in the late game.

In addition to the bonus AD scaling, Paranoia will also receive additional base damage at rank two and three. With these changes, Nocturne’s late-game potential will become even more terrifying.
