Ninjas in Pyjamas expresses interest in rejoining the League of Legends scene

Ninjas in Pyjamas Looks to Make a Comeback in League of Legends

The Swedish esports organization, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), is planning to enter the world of League of Legends once again, as revealed by NiP COO Jonas Gundersen. Gundersen took to Twitter earlier today to share the news and express the organization’s desire to find a passionate and talented head coach to help build something extraordinary.

This move would mark NiP’s third foray into the realm of League of Legends. The organization initially entered the scene in 2013 with the former roster of Copenhagen Wolves, which included well-known player Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg. However, due to inadequate results, NiP disbanded in September 2014. Nevertheless, NiP made a second attempt in May 2017 when they acquired Fnatic Academy’s European LCS spot. Unfortunately, this venture also ended in disappointment, with the team being relegated and the players released in October 2018.

Despite their previous shortcomings in League of Legends, Ninjas in Pyjamas has proven to be successful in other esports titles, including Rainbow Six Siege, Dota 2, and especially CS:GO.

Gundersen, being a former Counter-Strike player himself, took on the role of COO for NiP starting in 2020. Under his leadership, the organization expanded into FIFA by signing Olle Arbin from Team Gullit.

Now, with their sights set on a return to League of Legends, Ninjas in Pyjamas is eager to make a mark in the competitive scene once more. They are actively searching for a head coach who possesses both vision and experience to help them forge a successful path.
