The New Support Champion, Yuumi, Accidentally Leaked by Content Creator
The highly anticipated 2019 April Fools Cats vs. Dogs event in League of Legends ended in a supposed tie. But it turns out that wasn’t the case at all. The real winner is the cats, and Riot Games isn’t willing to admit it. The reason? The leaked footage of the newest support champion, Yuumi, who happens to be the most adorable kitten ever.
Yuumi wasn’t meant to be revealed just yet. In a fashion similar to the accidental leak of Akali’s rework last year, Riot Games gave Yuumi to a content creator in the League Partner Program. Unfortunately, the streamer and YouTuber Nasteey released the video on his channel by mistake. Although the video was taken down, some users managed to capture screenshots of the champion.
Based on her abilities, Yuumi seems to be in the same vein as recent releases like Neeko and Zoe. As a cat, she fits perfectly into Neeko’s Vastaya lore. Her abilities include a projectile on her Q, a pounce on her W, and a charming ability on her E. And let’s not forget her ultimate ability, which unleashes a spellbook-induced mushroom cloud of color – something you definitely want to watch out for.
According to the leaked gameplay images, Yuumi wields a magical spellbook, which she seems to carry or float on. With a glowing ball of light on top of her head and her tail serving as a magic wand, she’s a visually stunning champion.
Nasteey, the content creator who accidentally leaked Yuumi’s video, is currently working on editing the footage. He admitted his mistake after the leak went public. It’s worth noting that he recently spent time at Riot headquarters, where he might have had the opportunity to test the champion.
As of now, Riot Games has not officially announced when Yuumi will be available in the game. However, with the leak spreading, it’s only a matter of time before we hear more about her.
