League of Legends Community Excited for New Star Guardian Skins and “Invasion” Game Mode
The League of Legends community is buzzing with excitement as the new Star Guardian skins were revealed today. But that’s not all, there’s more to look forward to. Riot announced a new game mode called “Invasion” that will be hitting the PBE soon, along with the new skins according to their announcement.
Invasion Joins Doom Bots as Next Big PvE Game Mode
Invasion will join the Doom Bots as the next big PvE game mode in League of Legends. It’s set to be one of the largest special game modes ever created. Get ready to be amazed by what Riot has in store for us.
Invasion Game Mode Details
Invasion is a five-player co-op game split into seven different encounters followed by an epic boss fight. It takes place on a brand-new map called Valoran City Park. The objective is for the Star Guardians to defend the park against a horde of invading space monsters. These space monsters bear a striking resemblance to certain void champions you may have seen before. Check them out here.
Three Different Encounter Types
Invasion features three different encounter types, each randomized in every game. The encounters are initiated by players clicking on a large star in the center of each zone. After all five players channel on the star, the encounter begins. In the zone, players are allowed to rest and shop before commencing the battle.
The first encounter type is Survival. It’s straightforward, with waves of monsters that players must defeat. The second encounter type is Escape, in which the star zone moves to another spot on the map. Players must follow it from point A to point B, with the encounter being won as soon as one player reaches the destination. Leaving the zone will result in damage, so sticking together is crucial.
The final encounter type is Defense, which combines elements of the first two types. Waves of monsters will attack the team, and players must hold them off. Similarly to the Escape encounter, leaving the zone will cause damage. Once the seventh encounter is defeated, the boss will spawn.
Star Guardian Skins Preview
Today, the full set of Star Guardian skins for Ezreal, Soraka, Syndra, Ahri, and Miss Fortune were revealed. A sneak peek of their in-game models was recently shared on League’s Twitter.
The “Invasion” game mode and the new Star Guardian skins will be available on the PBE very soon, most likely within the next few days.
