New Fiddlesticks Visual and Gameplay Update intends to evoke fear and terror in its adversaries and allies

Riot Unveils Fiddlesticks’ Terrifying VGU in League of Legends

Riot developers gave the League of Legends community a chilling first look at the revamped Fiddlesticks. In a recent Dev Corner post, Riot explored the champion’s development, lore, and shared a sneak peek of the character’s new animations.

The developers initially struggled to categorize the “new” Fiddlesticks in terms of faction or race. However, upon examining the character’s name, it became clear that “Fiddlesticks” is not a name typically associated with a necromancer. Instead, it evokes childhood tales and campfire scares. This led to the champion’s origin story being transformed into an ancient myth used to warn misbehaving children about the dangers of the world.

Fiddlesticks is depicted as an inhuman entity without organs, a brain, or vocal cords. Its voice, if any, would be a mimicry of those it has slain.

To enhance the champion’s eerie appearance, tech artists created demonic, ghostly, and puppet-like animations. Additionally, Fiddlesticks was given an elongated right arm that drags its claws along the ground as it moves.

While the launch date for Fiddlesticks’ VGU has not been announced yet, fans can expect more details in a forthcoming Champion Roadmap.
