New Arrival Emerges: A Study of NRG eSports

NRG eSports: The Potential Superteam in NA

The rumors were true – NRG eSports, backed by the owners of the Sacramento Kings, has acquired Coast’s spot in the North American League Championship Series (LCS). The roster has been a subject of anticipation and excitement, with some calling it the potential new superteam in NA. Led by former Team Impulse Top Laner “Impact” Eon-yeong and featuring other notable players like Ex-Imagine Jungler Galen “Moon” Holgate and former Jin Air Green Wings Mid Laner Lee “GBM” Chang-seok, this team has the potential to make a big impact. But will the team live up to the hype or will it fall short like previous teams with Korean imports?

Impact: The World Champion Infiltrates NA

Impact left SKT to join Team Impulse and made his mark on the North American scene, showcasing his versatility and champion pool. However, his limited English skills may pose a challenge in terms of communication with his Jungler.

Moon: A Rising Star

Moon was rumored to join Team Liquid before joining NRG. Although he hasn’t had much exposure yet, he has shown promising potential by outperforming experienced players like Renegades’ Alberto “Crumbzz” Rengifo and Team 8’s Braeden “Porpoise” Schwark.

GBM: A Mid Lane Maestro

GBM left Jin Air Green Wings to join NRG, bringing his excellent control mage play to the team. However, with the current meta favoring ADCs, GBM’s skills as an assassin player might not be as impactful.

Altec: NA’s Rising ADC

Altec has proven himself as a strong ADC while playing for Gravity. Despite being stuck with organizations that lacked support staff, he consistently carried his team to victory. With the backing of NRG, he has the potential to shine even brighter.

Konkwon: A Reliable Support

Konkwon is the sole remaining member from Team Coast and considered the second strongest player on the team. He will now face off against the best bot lanes in the region, proving himself against NA’s elite.

NRG’s Potential: A Powerhouse on Paper

NRG’s roster boasts exceptional talent, with top players in respective roles. Despite their lack of experience, with the right support staff and time to develop synergy, NRG has the potential to be the best team in North America.

Concerns: Lack of Secondary Carries and Inexperience

One concern is the lack of a secondary carry, as most of the focus will be on Altec. Impact might be able to fill that role, but it remains to be seen if he can adapt. Additionally, the team lacks overall experience, with most players having little to no LCS stage exposure.

Advantages: Strong Support Staff and Potential for Growth

NRG has a talented support staff, including former Origen Head Coach Tadayoshi “Hermit” Littleton. The support staff’s expertise and ability to mold young players like Moon and Konkwon will be crucial to NRG’s success. The roster also has the advantage of strong communication, thanks to Konkwon’s fluency in both English and Korean.
