Netflix documentary series ‘7 Days Out’ to showcase League of Legends esports

The League of Legends Championship Series Comes to Netflix

The North American League of Legends Championship Series is set to be featured in an episode of the upcoming documentary series “7 Days Out” on Netflix, as announced by Riot Games. The official trailer for the series has also been released today.

The documentary series will showcase various significant events, including the CHANEL Haute Couture Fashion Show, the Kentucky Derby, the Westminster Dog Show, NASA’s Cassini Mission, and the opening of restaurant Eleven Madison Park. The episode focusing on League of Legends will follow four NA LCS teams as they prepare for the NA LCS finals held in Miami at the end of the 2018 Spring Split. The specific teams have yet to be revealed by Riot.

The premise of the series is to provide a behind-the-scenes look at what the professionals involved in each event go through during the seven days leading up to the main event.

The trailer for the NA LCS episode features glimpses of cosplayers at the event and showcases Fnatic and RNG at the Mid-Season Invitational. Although not explicitly mentioned in Riot’s press release, it is likely that cosplay will have a prominent presence in the episode, considering the abundance seen during the finals in Miami.

Additionally, the trailer reveals the red carpet walk for players at the Miami finals, a first for any Riot esports event. This interaction between players and fans was inspired by Hollywood events. Similar red carpet moments have since been incorporated in other major events, such as the K/DA cosplayers at Worlds.

“7 Days Out” will premier on Netflix on December 21st.
