Neeko’s LoL PBE Update Brings Exciting Changes for Midscope and Deceptive Abilities

Changes Coming to Neeko in League of Legends: A Closer Look

League of Legends players can expect some exciting changes to one of the game’s most unique champions, Neeko. These updates will make her an even trickier opponent to face.

The long-awaited midscope update for Neeko is now available for testing on the PBE (Public Beta Environment). It brings changes to the damage ratios and effects of her abilities. Although there is no exact release date yet, the update is likely to come with either Patch 13.9 on May 3 or Patch 13.10 on May 17.

Neeko’s Abilities and Transformation

Neeko’s midscope update expands her transformation capabilities. In addition to being able to transform into allied champions, she can now become plants, minions, and more. Standing next to these units grants Neeko a charge, allowing her to transform into them whenever she wants.

One exciting change is that Neeko’s transformation now remains active at all times, unless her clone’s health is depleted, she is crowd-controlled, or she uses an ability. Players can trigger her passive every six seconds.

Improved Control and Ultimate Ability

Neeko’s clone control has been enhanced. When she uses her W ability, players can slightly control the direction her clone moves, similar to LeBlanc’s passive. Although the effect wears off after a few seconds, this gives players more opportunities to deceive opponents.

Neeko’s ultimate ability has also been significantly altered. It now immediately roots enemies in the area when she jumps into the air, and the stun duration is extended upon landing. However, she no longer receives a shield when using the ability. This change makes it easier for enemies to counter her low health and defenses.

Expanding Neeko’s Role

Riot aims to expand Neeko’s versatility beyond just the mid lane. Her Q ability and the passive associated with her W have received buffs to their damage ratios when attacking jungle monsters. According to Riot Phlox, a designer on the Summoner’s Rift team, this change doesn’t mean Neeko jungle will become highly popular, but it opens up new possibilities for the champion.

Testing and Release

Players can test all the changes in Neeko’s midscope update on the PBE. The release date for these changes on live servers has not been announced yet, but players can expect them in one of the patches in May.
