Neeko: League of Legends’ Newest Champion Finally Revealed
Riot Games has finally revealed the newest champion in League of Legends, Neeko. After months of teasing, including a recent short video, players can now get a closer look at what this champion has to offer.
Neeko is another Vastayan, as Riot seems to have a fascination with this type of character. She has the ability to shapeshift into other champions and use clever tactics to outmaneuver her opponents. While she shares some similarities with Zoe in terms of personality, Neeko is more innocent and naive, as shown in her reveal trailer where she even stops to talk to a frog.
Along with the trailer, Neeko already has her own backstory on Universe, League’s official platform for storytelling and world building. According to her lore, she comes from a tribe of Vastayans in Runeterra, suggesting her people have a long history. While shapeshifting was a form of communication for her tribe, it appears that Neeko uses it predominantly for trickery in-game.
Riot has not officially revealed Neeko’s abilities yet, but a leaked video on the YouTube channel “SrConstantine” showcases her skills. She seems to have a wide range of mage abilities, including brief invisibility, skillshots, high damage output, and cloning.
Neeko may prove to be a challenging champion to master, but she also promises a fun and unique gameplay experience. Players can anticipate her release in Patch 8.24, which should be available in approximately two weeks.
