‘NA’s Underperformance at Worlds 2022 – Inspired Speaks Out’

North American League of Legends Teams Struggle at Worlds 2022

The first week of the group stage at Worlds 2022 hasn’t been kind to North American League of Legends fans. All of their teams have finished with a disappointing 0-9 record. Evil Geniuses’ jungler, Kacper “Inspired” Słoma, joined the conversation by offering some self-criticism.

In an interview with Travis Gafford, Inspired admitted that the region is not performing well in the group stage. While he didn’t have high expectations for 100 Thieves and Cloud9 entering the tournament, he believed that his team, Evil Geniuses, would have a strong showing in Group B. Unfortunately, their results so far have been a letdown.

“I think we suck,” Inspired said when asked about NA’s winless record. “After the meta shift for Cloud9, I thought that they would be in a really tough position. I thought they might not even win a single game. As for 100 Thieves, I thought they would at least secure a victory against the oysters team [CTBC Flying Oyster].”

Even Inspired himself had high hopes for Evil Geniuses in the group stage. He believed that they would secure some wins and perform well, especially after their match against MAD Lions, where he didn’t feel that MAD Lions was significantly better than G2.

Currently, Evil Geniuses has a 0-3 record in Group B, having lost to JD Gaming, DWG KIA, and G2 Esports. Inspired feels responsible for their latest loss against G2, calling it “a very bad game” and admitting that it hurt his confidence.

Despite their poor start, there is still a chance for Evil Geniuses to make it to the knockout stage of Worlds 2022. They would need to win their remaining three games in the group stage and get favorable results in other matches.

The group stage in Group B is set to resume on Friday, Oct. 14.
