MrBeast is set to acquire an LCS team in the near future

Internet Star MrBeast Interested in Investing in North American League of Legends

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, one of the internet’s biggest names, has officially announced his intention to invest in professional League of Legends, specifically within the North American scene. During the pre-show for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship finals match between T1 and DRX, MrBeast confirmed that he is interested in purchasing an LCS team in the near future. This follows weeks of rumors surrounding the content creator and his potential involvement in the region.

When asked about purchasing an LCS team on the analyst desk, MrBeast responded with a resounding “100 percent.” However, he also mentioned that he wants to make sure he’s doing it right and at the right time. He would like a team that he invests in to make it to a Worlds finals, something no LCS team has been able to achieve so far.

Though MrBeast didn’t provide specific details, he hinted that he may purchase a team within the next one or two years. It remains unclear whether he plans to acquire an existing LCS team or create one from scratch, as this decision is still in the planning phase.

Earlier this year, MrBeast hosted a large League event featuring prominent content creators like Ninja, Ludwig Ahgren, Emiru, Doublelift, and Tyler1. He has openly expressed his appreciation for League and how it has remained popular over the past decade.

As of now, no team that competed in the 2022 LCS season has dropped out of the league for the upcoming 2023 season. However, most teams are expected to undergo significant roster changes during the offseason due to poor performances both domestically and internationally throughout the year.
