Misfits Dominates H2K in EU LCS 2018 Spring Split
In an exciting matchup, Misfits faced off against H2K Gaming in the EU LCS 2018 Spring Split for the first time.
Misfits came into the game as clear favorites. Their strong team composition and the fact that they kept most of their roster intact gave them an edge. On the other hand, H2K made significant changes to their lineup, leading the community to view them as a “budget team” with low chances of success.
Misfits got an early advantage thanks to Chres “Sencux” Laursen outplaying Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen, forcing the latter to use his stopwatch. Santorin then attempted a risky invade, resulting in Sencux securing the first kill for Misfits.
Misfits capitalized on their gold lead by controlling the early game dragons. They secured both the Mountain Drake and the Infernal Drake, which are considered the strongest drakes in the game. However, H2K was able to even the score by taking down the first tower with the help of their Tristana, pushing through objectives and demolishing structures. The game then encountered several pauses, causing a temporary stall in momentum.
After the pause, H2K made a risky play by attempting to take the Baron despite being behind. Misfits responded quickly and collapsed onto H2K, wiping out the entire team without losing a single member. This not only gave Misfits an ace but also secured the Baron buff. Following another short pause, Misfits charged into H2K’s base and swiftly ended the game.
Surprisingly, there was only a single kill throughout the entire game before the Baron fight. The pace was slow, and there were no major teamfights. This made the sudden ending even more shocking, as Misfits made quick work of finishing the game after securing the Baron and winning the teamfight. The match concluded in just 31 minutes.
With this impressive victory, Misfits now hold a 2-1 record, while H2K falls to 1-2. Misfits will be facing Vitality in their upcoming match, while H2K goes up against Giants Gaming in the first game of the day.
