Misfits prevail over Excel Esports after grueling 41-minute battle

Misfits Triumph Over Excel Esports in a Thrilling LEC Match

In one of the most chaotic matches of the 2019 LEC Spring Split, Misfits emerged victorious over Excel Esports after an intense 41 minutes of gameplay.

The game began with Excel securing four early kills, giving Jesper “Jeskla” Klarin Strömberg an advantage in the bottom lane against Misfits’ star ADC Steven “Hans Sama” Liv. Excel’s early game dominance continued with a successful teamfight near the Rift Herald, resulting in two more kills for Excel.

This was Excel’s game to win, but they couldn’t hold onto their lead. Misfits managed to crawl back into the game, thanks to the exceptional performance of Hans Sama’s Draven, Fabian “Febiven” Diepstraten’s LeBlanc, and Paul “sOAZ” Boyer’s Sylas.

The match swung back and forth, with Excel winning teamfights only to overstay their welcome and suffer defeat soon after. Two standout players for Misfits were Febiven and sOAZ, who played a crucial role in keeping their team together. Their well-timed engages in the final moments of the game provided Hans Sama with the opportunity to deal the necessary damage for victory.

With this win, Misfits keep their playoff hopes alive. They are now tied with SK Gaming, Fnatic, and Schalke 04 for fifth place, with a record of 7-7. The upcoming matches against Fnatic and Schalke 04 will be crucial for Misfits’ chances of making it to the postseason.

On the other hand, Excel Esports’ loss means they join Rogue as the second team to be eliminated from LEC playoff contention. Despite a challenging season, Excel now has the offseason to make necessary changes to their roster for the upcoming Summer Split.
