The 2022 LEC Spring Split kicks off with Misfits taking a win
The 2022 LEC Spring Split’s second round robin began today with the return of players to the league’s Berlin studio after the grand finals held last summer.
Misfits and Team BDS were the first teams to grace the LCS stage in 2022, with Misfits emerging victorious after a 35-minute battle.
Before this week’s games, the LEC announced that players would be back in the Berlin studio in a limited capacity. Only the first and last games of each match day will be played in person, while the other three games will be played remotely. MAD Lions and G2 Esports will play the final game of the day in person.
In the opening on-stage game of the 2022 LEC season, BDS quickly took the lead with four kills and a 1,500 gold advantage at the 15-minute mark. However, Misfits managed to catch up in the mid game and secured the win thanks to a momentum swing triggered by Neon’s Jinx and a quadra kill.
Neon, Misfits’ AD carry, played a pivotal role in today’s match, finishing with a scoreline of 9/2/7. He participated in 16 of Misfits’ 20 kills, mostly due to his contributions in consecutive teamfight victories towards the end of the game.
BDS will face Excel Esports on the LEC stage tomorrow, while Misfits will play their next game against Rogue remotely.
