Misfits continue undefeated streak with dominant victory over Splyce

Misfits Tops EU LCS Standings, Tied with G2 Esports

In a dominating performance, Misfits has clinched a victory against Splyce, propelling them to a tie for first place in the EU LCS with G2 Esports.

Last split, Misfits struggled and didn’t even make it to the playoffs, a far cry from their impressive showing at the 2017 Worlds. However, this split, Misfits is showing signs of returning to their former glory. They remain undefeated alongside G2 Esports and are making a strong case for themselves as the best team in the league.

While Fnatic is struggling to find their footing in the bot lane meta, which excludes traditional marksmen, G2 Esports seems to be adapting well. However, what sets Misfits apart is that they are not conforming to the meta. G2’s strength lies in their mid laner, Perkz, who excels in playing hyper carry champions like Kai’Sa. This has led G2 to adopt the mid lane gold funneling strategy, focusing all resources on Perkz. However, if this strategy gets nerfed in the future or becomes less effective, it’s uncertain how well G2 would perform. In contrast, Misfits’ bot laner, Hans Sama, is still opting for traditional marksmen like Draven and Lucian, even in a meta that has moved away from them. Misfits has demonstrated the ability to adapt to the meta without fully conforming to it, distinguishing themselves as a standout team this split.

Misfits’ next game is scheduled against Vodafone Giants tomorrow at 11am CT [6pm CEST].
