Mike Yeung departs TSM, declares free agency

Mike Yeung to Leave TSM for New Team in 2019

After a challenging 2018 season, jungler Mike Yeung has announced that he will be leaving TSM. In a farewell post on TSM’s subreddit, Yeung expressed his regrets and thanked the fans for the great memories he made with the team.

According to Riot Games’ global contract database, Yeung is still under contract with TSM until Nov. 19, 2018. This means he cannot officially sign with a new team until his contract expires.

The Rise and Fall of TSM

During the 2018 season, TSM underwent a major roster rebuild, with Yeung joining the team along with G2 Esports’ bot lane duo and former Immortals head coach. However, the team struggled to live up to expectations and ended the Spring Split tied for fifth place, the lowest rank in the organization’s history. As a result, Yeung was moved to TSM’s Academy team while another player took his place on the LCS roster.

Uncertain Future for TSM’s Academy Team

With Yeung’s departure, TSM’s Academy team is now without a jungler. It remains to be seen whether the team will promote Grig to the main roster or bring in a new player.

As the 2018 League season comes to a close, more roster moves are expected to be announced across the competitive esports scene.
