Master Yi and Rek’Sai finally getting nerfs in League Patch 12.19

Riot Games is making small changes to champions and items in League of Legends as part of their preparations for the upcoming preseason. These changes are being tested in patches after the World Championship.

In Patch 12.19, Riot’s lead designer, Phroxzon, shared insights on the nerfs players can expect. Although this patch will release during Worlds, only Patch 12.18 will be used for the duration of the international tournament.

The upcoming nerfs target champions that have consistently had high win rates in the jungle. Master Yi, the low-Elo demon, will have his damage reduced through lowered damage growth and a decreased true damage ratio on his E. Rek’Sai, who has been dominating solo queue junglers, will also receive a nerf with lowered attack damage growth per level.

Another nerf will be made to the Mythic item “Eclipse,” following previous adjustments earlier this year. The Lethality it provides will be toned down while its attack damage will be slightly increased. Riot aims to make this item more versatile and not exclusively used by Lethality users. However, Phroxzon mentioned that Blade of the Ruined King is not considered a major issue by the team at the moment, despite some player concerns.

Players can already test these changes on League‘s PBE, and they are expected to go live with Patch 12.19 on October 5. However, there may be further adjustments before the official release.
