Maplestreet steps in for Misfits as Jebus faces visa complications

Misfits Player, Jebus, Faces Visa Issues

Mohamed “Jebus” Tohki from Misfits has hit a roadblock in his attempt to move to the U.S. due to visa issues. He has been denied a visitor’s visa and now needs an athlete’s visa to enter the country. However, he can only be eligible for an athlete’s visa if he plays for a League Championship Series (LCS) side. As a result, Tohki plans to join Team Dragon Knights as a substitute while continuing to play for Misfits.

Misfits to Use Team 8 Substitute for Challenger Series Qualifiers

Due to the lengthy athlete’s visa application process, Misfits will have Ainslie “maplestreet” Wyllie, the current Team 8 substitute, play in place of Tohki for the upcoming North American Challenger Series qualifiers.

“We are glad maplestreet found a team he would like to join,” said Team 8 owner, Eric “LovePentaKills8” Ma. “We wish to see him prove himself and meet us back in the LCS.”

Misfits Owner Thanks Team 8

Misfits owner Chris Badawi expressed his gratitude to Team 8 for their assistance in allowing Wyllie to join Misfits for the early stages of the qualifying series. He praised Wyllie’s attitude and spirit.

Visa Troubles Similar to Alex Ich

Alexey “Alex Ich” Ichetovkin, Tohki’s new teammate, has faced similar visa issues in the past. When he joined Team 8 as a substitute, he applied for his visa. However, he later joined Team BrawL for the North American Challenger Series qualifier and then formed the current Misfits team with Alberto “Crumbz” Rengifo.

In the meantime, Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes has been playing for Misfits during the AlphaDraft Challenger League as a temporary solution. However, Hayes is likely to join Counter Logic Gaming as the substitute AD carry. Misfits placed first in the AlphaDraft Challenger League on May 15 with Hayes filling in for Tohki.

With Wyllie leaving Team 8, it is not surprising that he is looking for a new team to join. The North American Challenger Series qualifiers begin on May 26 and Misfits will have just under two weeks to integrate Wyllie into the team.
