The Technical Issues Plaguing IEM Katowice and the Future of IEM Tournaments
Technical issues at IEM Katowice have caused major delays and are now putting not only this event, but also future IEM tournaments at risk.
Almost every series at this event has experienced delays or equipment issues. While occasional hiccups are understandable, multiple issues are concerning. And I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Casters have been tasked with entertaining viewers during these delays and pauses, keeping the audience engaged and interested. But constant game pauses and remakes make some series less enjoyable to watch, and ultimately undermine the value of esports.
My main concern is that if these problems persist, IEM League of Legends events may no longer exist.
