All You Need to Know About Nexus Blitz Balance Adjustments and Hotfixes
Nexus Blitz, the popular game mode in League of Legends, has made a comeback in 2021. However, players quickly realized that certain champions were dominating the mode. As a result, Riot tech designer “CptCubone” has introduced significant nerfs to 13 champions specifically for Nexus Blitz this weekend.
The complete list of buffs and nerfs was shared by Riot CptCubone on Twitter, and these changes are now live in the game.
In Nexus Blitz, the action takes place in the Temple of Lily and Lotus, a smaller map with two lanes and four turrets defending the Inhibitor and Nexus on each side. Since the champions in League of Legends are balanced for the Summoner’s Rift, adjustments need to be made for other maps like Nexus Blitz to ensure fair gameplay.
According to stats from Mobalytics, popular champions such as Brand and Kog’Maw have been performing exceptionally well in the smaller jungle, with fast clears that allow them to gank the lanes effectively with their crowd control abilities. Champions like Seraphine have also been causing trouble in the lanes with their high damage output.
However, certain minigames in Nexus Blitz restrict mobility, making it difficult to counter champions like Taliyah and Zyra who heavily rely on poke damage.
On the other hand, assassins like Akali and Evelynn have received buffs to their ability haste and damage taken, enhancing their survivability in the chaotic battles of Nexus Blitz. These buffs are aimed at helping them withstand the crowd control effects and burst damage they often face. Nevertheless, there are still a few champions who could benefit from further adjustments.
