MAD Lions Releases 2 Prominent League Players in Preparation for 2023 Restructuring

Popular players İrfan “Armut” Tükek and Norman Kaiser leave MAD Lions

The League of Legends offseason is in full swing as players from around the world make their way to new teams for the upcoming year. In Europe, two well-known players, İrfan “Armut” Tükek and Norman Kaiser, have left their first home in the LEC.

Armut and Kaiser have built a legacy with MAD Lions and have now entered free agency for the first time since they made their league debuts. Both players have made a name for themselves during their time with the organization, ushering in a new era in the region.

Over the past two years, Armut and Kaiser have achieved great success with MAD Lions. They won two LEC championships, had a strong showing at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational, and participated in two World Championships. The team’s talented roster, known for their unique personalities and aggressive playstyle, became beloved and respected among League fans worldwide.

However, Armut and Kaiser’s time with MAD Lions also had disappointments. In the last two Worlds they attended with the team, they were only able to reach the play-in stage, failing to qualify for the group stage. They are the only major region team to experience this twice in a row.

MAD Lions is busy this offseason, reportedly bringing in new players such as Chasy from X7 Esports and Carzzy, a former member of Team Vitality. The organization is also keeping important members like superstar jungler Elyoya.

On the other hand, Armut may be heading to North America as part of his next career move. There are reports that he will sign with Team Dignitas for the 2023 LCS Spring Split. Kaiser, on the other hand, is reportedly joining Vitality as the organization aims to rebuild trust within the LEC community following their underwhelming performance as the region’s “superteam” last year.

The global free agency period is now open, so more roster news is expected as we approach the new year.
