MAD Carzzy reflects on victory against G2, progressing to the 2021 Spring Split finals, and praises Elyoya as a potential top-tier LEC jungler

The LEC Playoffs: MAD Lions Defeat G2 Esports Again

The LEC playoffs continue to impress League of Legends fans, and April 3 seems to be an unlucky date for G2 Esports.

Last weekend, MAD Lions defeated the perennial LEC champions 3-1. Interestingly, exactly one year ago on April 3, 2020, MAD Lions also beat G2, sending them to the losers bracket in a close series. However, MAD Lions did not make it to the finals of the 2020 LEC Spring Split playoffs despite their victory.

Fast forward one year, and with two new players on their roster, MAD Lions, led by Mac, have made it to the grand finals of the 2021 LEC Spring Split playoffs after their win over G2. They now await the winner of the Rogue vs. G2 matchup on April 10.

Carzzy: A Key Player for MAD Lions

In both of MAD’s victories over G2, Carzzy, the team’s AD carry, played a crucial role. After the recent win, the 19-year-old ADC spoke with about the series and his team’s performance.

There has been a common belief that less-experienced players perform better when playing from their facilities rather than on stage. However, Carzzy shattered this narrative by expressing his preference for playing on stage. He believes playing on stage enhances the entertainment value of the game for both players and viewers.

Carzzy’s Redemption and the Rise of Elyoya

During the regular season, Carzzy struggled, which contrasted with his excellent performance last spring. However, he attributes his poor performance to a lack of motivation and a misalignment within the team’s playstyle. Playing on stage has reignited his motivation and confidence.

In addition to Carzzy, the two new MAD Lions players, particularly Elyoya, have been instrumental in the team’s success. Elyoya’s impressive skills have gained recognition, and Carzzy believes he has the potential to become the best jungler in the LEC.

MAD Lions Aims for First LEC Title

MAD Lions will compete for their first LEC title and a ticket to MSI on Sunday, April 11 at 10am CT. They will face the winner of the series between Rogue and G2, scheduled for Saturday, April 10 at 10am CT.
