Lucian dominated the ban rate at Worlds 2020 main event with an impressive 78.9% banning frequency.

The Most-Banned Champions at the League of Legends World Championships 2020

The recently concluded League of Legends World Championships 2020 saw Lucian, also known as the Purifier, emerge as the most-banned pick of the tournament. This marksman wreaked havoc on the Rift and was highly versatile, able to be played in multiple positions. However, his strongest performance was observed in the mid lane, especially when played on the blue side.

Due to his dominance in the lane and ability to be triple-flexed, Lucian was banned in a staggering 78.9 percent of games during the main event of Worlds 2020. These statistics were obtained from Oracle’s Elixir and Game of Legends.

Although Lucian primarily appeared in the mid lane, he did make an appearance in the bot lane during one match. G2’s bot laner Perkz, a legendary player from Europe, chose Lucian during the drafting phase against eventual winners DAMWON Gaming in the semifinals. However, Perkz struggled to match the range of the opposing team, which ultimately hindered G2’s chances against the Korean side.

The second and third most-banned champions at the Worlds 2020 main event were Nidalee and Twisted Fate. Nidalee was banned in 63.2 percent of games, while Twisted Fate received bans in 60.5 percent of games. Twisted Fate’s strength lies in the mid lane, thanks to his global ultimate and the ability to instantly stun opponents with his gold card.
