LPL surpasses LCK in historical head-to-head Bo5 record after MSI 2022

LPL Overtakes LCK in Head-to-Head Bo5 Record at MSI 2022

The rivalry between LPL and LCK in League of Legends has always been intense, and the clashes between teams from these regions have given fans some of the most exciting matchups in the game’s history.

Historically, the LCK has had the upper hand with an 8-2 record against the LPL in best-of-five series. However, after this year’s Mid-Season Invitational, the tides have shifted in favor of the LPL. The all-time head-to-head record now stands at 10-9 in favor of China.

The first Riot-sponsored showdown between LCK and LPL took place during the 2013 League of Legends World Championship, where SKT T1 emerged victorious over Royal Club with a 3-0 scoreline. Over the years, Faker and his team continued their dominance, defeating Chinese teams four times in best-of-five series.

However, the turning point came in MSI 2018 when RNG took down DragonX in the finals. Since then, Korean teams have only managed to defeat their Chinese counterparts once in best-of-five series.
