Longest-Standing LCS Player Released by Immortals Following Another Disappointing Split

Immortals Part Ways with Longest-Serving Player Revenge Ahead of 2023 Summer Split

Immortals continues to make changes to its LCS roster for the upcoming 2023 Summer Split, with the departure of Mohamed “Revenge” Kaddoura, the team’s longest-serving player.

Revenge, 23, announced on social media on April 18 that he has become a free agent. He expressed gratitude to Immortals for their trust over the past two and a half years and mentioned that he is now looking for new opportunities.

Revenge joined Immortals as a member of the League of Legends roster in 2021 and has since been a consistent presence. In the most recent Spring Split, he stood out as one of the team’s top performers, despite their disappointing ninth-place finish in the regular season. This recognition was echoed by other members of the LCS community.

“You were a highlight on your team and I genuinely hope you find success,” said variety streamer CapCorgi. “Hope you land on your feet. You had a great split,” added Esports Illustrated journalist Sage Datuin.

According to a top comment on Reddit, Revenge’s improvement throughout the split was widely acknowledged by other professionals. The comment stated, “Revenge was one of the better-looking tops in spring, was widely acknowledged by other pros to have been improving this split. Unless he’s being replaced with like Zeus or something, I don’t see how this makes sense.”

Alongside the release of Revenge, Immortals has made another roster change. On April 17, the organization signed League veteran Erik “Treatz” Wessén as the new support for their LCS team.

As of now, it is unknown who will replace Revenge. However, Immortals has time to explore their options as the 2023 LCS Summer Split doesn’t begin until June 1. With recent changes in the Immortals camp, it is likely that the announcement of a new starting top laner is just a matter of days away.
