London train strikes may disrupt travel plans for MSI 2023 fans.

Train Strikes Could Impact 2023 Mid-Season Invitational for League of Legends Fans

If you’re a fan of League of Legends and planning to attend the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational, there is an important update you need to be aware of. The train drivers’ union is planning to go on strike next month, which could affect your travel plans for the tournament.

The train strikes are scheduled to last for three days, starting from the beginning of May until June. One of the strike days falls right in the middle of the bracket stage on Friday, May 12. If you were planning to travel to the city via train for this part of the event, it’s recommended to have backup plans for that date and possibly the following days as well.

The strikes are the result of a year-long dispute between train companies and workers. Since last year, there have been eight days of strikes already. The drivers have not received a pay raise since 2019, and the current offers from executives don’t meet the current inflation rate in the U.K., according to the train drivers’ union.

Even if you’re staying close to the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, these train strikes could still affect your ability to travel. With more people relying on alternative means of transportation, such as buses and Ubers, the roads in London may experience heavy traffic. It’s important to plan ahead and consider other travel options to avoid missing out on the games.

MSI 2023 is set to begin on Tuesday, May 2 and will continue until Sunday, May 21.
