“F**ked up”: LoL star Spica calls out FlyQuest after finding out he was replaced on Twitter in 2023

After spending the first half of the year out of the spotlight, famous LCS jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu has finally found a home with Dignitas for the 2024 Summer Split—and he is not holding back when it comes to his previous squad.

During the team’s roster announcement for Spica, the 23-year-old former MVP revealed that in 2023, he first learned about FlyQuest replacing him in the starting lineup via a Twitter post. The experienced jungler said that it was “pretty f***ed up” that he had to learn about the change this way.

Spica believes that the team’s failure to gel in 2023 was due to a conflict of egos, despite having tremendous skill from top lane to support. He also recognized that he was not assertive enough while with the organization, and that connecting with teammates is extremely tough when you are losing.

In the 2023 offseason, FlyQuest acquired a new squad, including superstar jungler Kacper “Inspired” Słoma. He was Spica’s immediate successor, but because the former MVP was not informed of the decision-making process, he was compelled to work as a content developer and streamer throughout the first half of 2024.

Moving ahead, Spica is more optimistic about Dignitas’ future and their chances in the 2024 Summer Split. He claims that he and his new teammates have been getting along well so far and share similar perspectives on the game, which should aid in developing synergy both on and off the Summoner’s Rift.

Spica joins Dignitas’ new-look lineup, which also includes Licorice, Jensen, Zven, and Isles. Dignitas hasn’t seen much success since they returned to the competitive League in 2020, but this roster has the potential to make some waves this coming season.
