LoL players will soon be able to report trolls in-game, announces Riot

Riot Games Testing New Feature to Report Toxic Players in League of Legends Matches

League of Legends developer Riot Games is currently testing a new feature that will allow players to report toxic and trolling teammates during matches. This feature aims to address the issue of toxic behavior within the gaming community and improve the overall experience for players.

A screenshot of the feature from the Public Beta Environment (PBE) on April 26 shows an updated user interface with new buttons next to each player’s name. One button allows players to easily mute their teammates in the chat, while the other opens a report window with a list of complaints.

According to Rioter RemAlbatross on Reddit, reporting players will also mute their pings, emotes, and text chats. This means that players can effectively deal with toxic behavior by reporting and muting the offending players.

Naturally, there have been mixed reactions to this new feature. Some players are concerned about impulsive reports and the potential for false accusations. However, RemAlbatross reassured the community that reports can be edited throughout the game, including the option to forgive a player and remove the report entirely.

This reporting feature is designed to provide crucial information to the developer without replacing post-match reports. It will help Riot Games identify and take action against unsavory behavior in the game, ultimately promoting a more positive gaming environment for all players.

It is important to note that this feature is still in the testing phase and may undergo further changes before its official introduction to live servers. The exact timeline for its release remains uncertain.
