New Glitch in League of Legends allows players to collect their own bounty gold
League of Legends players have discovered a new glitch that allows them to collect their own bounty gold on the Summoner’s Rift. Renata Glasc, a champion in the game, has been known for having some strange bugs in the past. However, this glitch takes it to a whole new level.
On May 8, a user on the game’s subreddit posted gameplay footage of a match where a fed Aatrox was tanking the mid lane tower for his team. Renata Glasc used her Bailout ability to speed up Aatrox’s attack speed, while also giving him more time to take down the tower if he ended up dying to its attacks. This gameplay showcased how the glitch works.

When Aatrox was executed by the tower, he was still able to attack for a few seconds due to the temporary zombie effect of Bailout. While Aatrox was in this zombie state, the team managed to destroy the tower. However, since Aatrox didn’t secure a takedown during Bailout, the glitch kicked in.
Normally, when a champion is killed by a tower, it counts as a normal execute. But because the tower was destroyed before the zombie effect of Bailout ended, there was no target for the death to be attributed to. This resulted in Aatrox being given 700 gold from his own bounty, while also resetting his own bounty so that the enemy team couldn’t benefit from it later in the game.
This glitch could be difficult to recreate in a real game, but for teams that are already snowballing their lead, it can give them an even greater advantage. They can keep resetting their own gold while also receiving an easy boost of gold for themselves. This allows a leading team to remain strong and deny the enemy team a potential source of comeback gold.
Although Riot, the developer of League of Legends, hasn’t acknowledged this glitch yet, it is hoped that it will be patched out in an upcoming update to ensure fair gameplay.
