LoL Patch 13.14 nerfs fail to rescue Sion, Rengar, and 7 other champions with average win rates

League of Legends Patch 13.14: Nine Champions to Receive Nerfs

The Riot Games balance teams are finally back at work after a three-week break between patches. They have already set their sights on nine champions for nerfs in Patch 13.14, scheduled for release on July 19.

The champions expected to receive nerfs in this upcoming patch are Rek’Sai, Rengar, Sion, Milio, Hecarim, Jax, Karthus, Kindred, and Rell.

While the nerfs to Rell, Karthus, and Rek’Sai are understandable as they are performing above average, the nerfs to the rest of the champions may come as a surprise. These champions have relatively average win rates in Season 13, according to the League stat tracking website U.GG.

The exception is Rengar, who has a significantly lower win rate. It is surprising that he is not receiving buffs instead.

Matt “RiotPhroxon” Leung-Harrison, the man in charge of League’s balance team, believes that these upcoming champion nerfs will balance out the item buffs in the mid-July update. However, the item buffs in question only affect the main builds for these champions, including Prowler’s Claw, Spear of Shojin, and jungle treats.

It remains to be seen how these nerfs and buffs will affect the League of Legends meta in Season 13. The full Patch 13.14 notes are expected to be released next week, providing more details on the extent of the champion nerfs.

Please note that these planned League nerfs could change before the patch is released.
