LoL community blames Riot for the demise of Nexus Blitz game mode

Nexus Blitz: Is Riot Games to Blame for its “Dead” State?

Nexus Blitz, the highly anticipated game mode in League of Legends, made a comeback on Oct. 24 after a three-year hiatus. However, players are not enjoying it as much as expected and believe that it’s currently “dead,” with Riot Games taking the blame.

A Reddit user named xxs- claimed on Nov. 15 that the game mode is dead. They pointed out that the queue timer is around three to four minutes long, none of their friends are playing, and overall interest is low. Many others joined xxs- in sharing their own thoughts on this issue, highlighting Riot’s responsibility for the current unbalanced state of Nexus Blitz.

Players have criticized the mode for being too snowbally and having annoyingly random events that favor certain teams. One player wrote, “The mode would be cute if the events didn’t randomly gift a win to a team half of the time.” Another player stated, “Because it’s unbalanced as shit.”

Despite the three-year wait for Nexus Blitz’s return, players feel that Riot made few changes and that the mode is now even more unbalanced and random. While these elements may be enjoyable for a game or two, they don’t provide enough long-term engagement for the community. It’s worth noting that players have complained about these issues before.

Frankly speaking, players make a fair point. When Nexus Blitz returned in October, I also played it with my friends. But soon after, we either forgot about it or preferred other game modes where we felt more impactful.

Nexus Blitz will be removed on Nov. 27, so if you want to give it another try and experience it for yourself, you still have a week and a half left.
