LNG signs former MSI MVP for 2023 LPL Summer Split

LPL 2023 Summer Split: GALA joins LNG

The LPL’s 2023 Summer Split is set to start on May 29. China’s best teams, including the MSI runners-up Bilibili Gaming and the newly crowned champions JD Gaming, will compete at an all-time high level of competition.

LNG, one of the LPL teams, has recently announced the addition of former MSI MVP AD carry Chen “GALA” Wei to its roster. GALA had left RNG after a successful three-year stint that included an MSI championship and MVP title in 2021. He established himself as one of the world’s top ADCs during the recent Worlds 2022 tournament.

LNG’s Strong Roster

GALA’s move to LNG comes after the team’s average performance in the 2023 LPL Spring Split, where they finished 8-8 and were eliminated in the playoffs’ first round. LNG aims to strengthen its chances of a deep Worlds run with the addition of GALA and the existing roster, which includes former world champion mid laner Lee “Scout” Ye-chan. Scout, who joined LNG last season, has consistently been one of the best mid laners in the LPL and received multiple accolades.

LNG also boasts the talented young jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong, who played a crucial role in the team’s first Worlds appearance in 2021. Tarzan’s aggressive playstyle and versatile champion pool have been instrumental in LNG’s success. With Scout, Tarzan, and GALA on their roster, LNG aims to secure a spot in the upcoming Worlds tournament and compete against the strongest teams in the world.

LNG’s Goal for the 2023 Summer Split

LNG’s goal for the 2023 Summer Split is to qualify for Worlds, which will not be an easy task considering the strong competition in the LPL. The team needs to finish at least in the top three to have a chance. JD Gaming, as the current favorites, and BLG, who surprised everyone with their MSI finals appearance, pose significant challenges for LNG. However, GALA’s addition to the roster brings immense talent and experience, giving LNG a chance to make a mark in the upcoming split.

As the LPL’s Summer Split approaches, LNG’s fans eagerly await the performance of their three-headed monster and the exciting matches they will bring.
