Team Liquid has made the surprising decision to bench Alphari, their superstar top laner, just one game into the 2021 LCS Summer Split. Alphari will be on break until Sunday, June 27.

Alphari’s Personal Reasons
According to Liquid’s statement, Alphari’s performance and attitude issues were caused by “private reasons” in his personal life. The team admits that they should have allowed him to take a break before the split began. They also acknowledge the lack of communication surrounding the situation and are now working on a plan moving forward.
Jenkins Fills In
During Alphari’s absence, the team’s Academy top laner, Jenkins, will be filling his spot for the next two weeks.
Adapting to a New Dynamic
Alphari has been a key player for Liquid and his absence will require the team to adjust their gameplay. However, with star talent such as Santorin, Jensen, Tactical, and CoreJJ, the team is still expected to be a strong contender in the LCS Summer Split.
