Likkrit is handed a 6-month competitive play suspension

Kirill “Likkrit” Malofeyev Banned from Competitive League of Legends for Offensive Comments

Kirill “Likkrit” Malofeyev, a former player for M19 in the League of Legends Continental League (LCL), has been banned for six months by RU Riot Games after he made offensive comments during a live stream.

On December 1, Likkrit delivered a speech on his stream in which he criticized RU Riot Games, the LCL, and some Riot workers. A clip of his speech was originally posted on Twitch, but it has since been removed.

Riot Games released a statement saying, “The administration of the Continental League became aware that [Likkrit] violated the regulations of the Continental League, allowing, during the internet broadcast, statements that offend the League of Legends gaming community in the CIS, discrediting the business reputation of the company Riot Games, and posing a threat to the image of League of Legends and the Continental League. [Likkrit’s] statements contained the profanity used by him in describing the League of Legends gaming community in the CIS, the Continental League, and the activities of Riot Games employees.”

The ban, which starts on December 18, 2017, means that Likkrit will be unable to participate in any League of Legends competitions until at least June 18, 2018.

Likkrit became well-known for his time with Albus NoX Luna in 2016, when they became the first wildcard team to advance beyond the group stage at the League of Legends World Championship. However, they were eventually defeated 3-0 by the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS) team H2K Gaming in the quarterfinals.

During the incident, Likkrit reportedly discussed his experiences with multiple organizations, including Albus NoX Luna.

Following the ban, Likkrit reportedly announced his retirement from competitive League of Legends, according to cybersport.ru.
