LGD Gaming’s World Championship Dream Shattered as KT Rolster Victorious

Chinese team LGD Gaming’s hopes dashed after loss to KT Rolster

Chinese first seed LGD Gaming’s dreams of advancing to the bracket stage of the 2015 League of Legends World Championship were shattered today with a defeat against Korean powerhouse KT Rolster.

LGD Gaming suffered their fourth consecutive loss, being defeated by Origen, Team SoloMid, and KT Rolster in their group last week. This unexpected downfall comes as a shock for a team that was considered a strong contender for the title.

Poor performance from LGD members leads to their downfall

The losses were primarily attributed to a lackluster performance by the LGD members, particularly jungler Zhu “TBQ” Yong-Quan and mid laner Wei “GODV” Lian. Both players failed to measure up to their peers in the group, despite GODV’s reputation as one of the best mid laners in China.

In an attempt to turn things around, LGD Gaming substituted legendary top laner Lee “Flame” Ho-jong for today’s games. However, this change was unable to ignite a better performance from a team that seemed to lack determination.

LGD Gaming’s disappointing exit after a season of ups and downs

LGD Gaming had a turbulent Summer season but managed to bounce back during the playoffs, clinching first place over the Qiao Gu Reapers. With a strong performance leading up to Worlds and a history of success in the playoffs, LGD Gaming was initially expected to perform well alongside SK Telecom T1 and EDward Gaming.

Unfortunately, LGD Gaming will now return to China empty-handed, leaving behind one of the biggest disappointments in World Championship history.
