LGD Gaming suffers 2-1 defeat to Rare Atom in Shad0w’s LPL debut

Shad0w’s Debut in the LPL: LGD Gaming Loses 2-1 to Rare Atom

After a long-awaited return, Shad0w finally made his way back to the competitive stage. However, his debut in the LPL didn’t go as planned, with LGD Gaming suffering a 2-1 defeat against Rare Atom.

A Strong Start for LGD

The League of Legends series began on a positive note for LGD, as they secured a convincing 30-minute victory in the first game. Shad0w showcased his skills on Rumble, finishing the match with an impressive KDA of 20. The team also capitalized on Xiye’s Sylas, displaying the champion’s lethal potential in the right hands. It seemed like LGD would easily secure a 2-0 series win, as Rare Atom struggled to gain any ground throughout the game.

A Turn of Events in Game Two

As expected in the LPL, game two brought high-variance gameplay. LGD maintained the lead for the majority of the 37-minute match. However, with a well-executed fight at Baron, Rare Atom turned the tides and made a remarkable comeback to claim victory despite a significant gold deficit.

LGD’s Struggles Continue in Game Three

In game three, LGD opted for comfort picks but couldn’t recapture their initial composure. Shad0w played Lee Sin in the jungle, and Garvey took on Gwen in the top lane. Unfortunately, they crumbled under the pressure from Cube’s Volibear, resulting in Rare Atom securing a 28-minute victory and winning the series.

Despite their loss, LGD displayed strong foundations for their LPL split. However, their ADC Kramer’s tendency to get caught out of position remains a significant issue, leading to unfavorable fights at major objectives. It’s evident that they are still adjusting to a new jungler, which contributed to their performance in today’s games.

Rare Atom, on the other hand, started their LPL campaign off strong with victories against OMG and LGD. However, their true test awaits in week two when they face off against Edward Gaming on June 14.

Next up for LGD is a match against Ultra Prime on June 13.
