LGD Gaming bids farewell to accomplished jungler Peanut

League of Legends Pro League’s LGD Gaming bids farewell to veteran jungler Peanut

The LGD Gaming team of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) has announced the departure of their experienced jungler Peanut ahead of the 2021 season.

While Peanut showcased his skills during the regular season of the LPL, he struggled to adapt to the meta at the 2020 World Championship. The tournament required him to take on the role of primary carry for his team, playing champions like Lillia, Graves, and Nidalee.

Parting ways with LGD Gaming

Following a below-par performance at Worlds this year, an imposter posing as an LGD fan gained access to Peanut’s personal information and even sent a funeral wreath to his home, expressing ill wishes for him.

This series of disappointing performances at Worlds, along with the backlash, likely influenced LGD’s decision to part ways with Peanut during the offseason.

Expressing his thoughts on the matter, Peanut stated in an interview with Korizon, “I’m sad that the decision was made in such a short time. Because of the circumstances of the team, LGD and I have mutually agreed for me to become a Free Agent. I am currently looking for offers, open to any teams in any region. I wish the best of luck for LGD in future endeavors.”

It is unlikely that a player of Peanut’s caliber will remain without offers for the upcoming 2021 season. In the interview, he also mentioned his openness to joining teams in all regions, which suggests the possibility of seeing him in Western regions, should there be any teams looking for an intriguing addition to their jungle.
