LGD defeats TSM, joins tie for first in Group C at Worlds 2020

LGD Gaming Takes the Lead in Group C at the League of Legends World Championship

LGD Gaming has emerged as the frontrunner in Group C at the 2020 League of Legends World Championship after a thrilling victory against TSM. Despite their unconvincing performance in the play-in stage, LGD is now showcasing their teamwork and the exceptional skills of their mid laner, Xiye.

Both teams started the game with aggressive trades, resulting in the first blood going to Kramer from LGD. With a well-coordinated flash from Kramer onto Doublelift, followed by Senna’s crowd control, TSM had no chance to escape.

Although both teams secured early kills, LGD had the advantage with their superior teamfighting composition. They managed to survive the early game without falling behind and dominated the rest of the match.

At the 35-minute mark, LGD was already 6,000 gold ahead with multiple objectives in their possession. Xiye executed a brilliant Orianna ultimate, eliminating the enemy top side duo of Shen and Graves. Xiye secured a triple kill by taking down the enemy support, leading his team to a decisive victory.

With this win, LGD now shares the top position in Group C with Gen.G and Fnatic, both standing at 2-1. On the other hand, TSM’s chances of advancing to the next stage of the competition seem bleak as they remain winless at the bottom of their group’s standings (0-3).

LGD will continue their remarkable journey from being the worst team in the play-in stage to potential quarterfinalists of Worlds 2020. Their remaining matches will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10.
