Letters from the Past: CoreJJ and Bwipo Reflect on their Journey from Rookie Seasons to Now

Professional Esports Players Reflect on Their Journeys: CoreJJ and Bwipo Share Advice to Their Younger Selves

Most professional esports players are constantly focused on the present, training for upcoming matches and tournaments. But sometimes, it’s important to take a step back and reflect on the past. This is especially true for players who have left their home countries to compete in North America.

In the fast-paced world of League of Legends, success and failure can come and go in an instant. However, two players, CoreJJ and Bwipo, have taken the time to look back on their humble beginnings and offer advice to their younger selves.

CoreJJ, a standout player in the North American scene, shared his message to his younger self: “Don’t give up.” Since his return to NA in 2019, CoreJJ has become a fan favorite, winning multiple LCS championships and earning MVP awards. He has also played a key role in developing the NA scene and fostering a better environment for improvement.

But CoreJJ’s journey hasn’t always been easy. He struggled to find success in his early career, even considering retirement at one point. However, his determination and willingness to improve led him to join Team Liquid and become a dominant force in the NA League scene.

Similarly, Bwipo, a top laner for Fnatic, has faced his own challenges on the road to success. Before joining one of Europe’s top teams, Bwipo played in various secondary leagues and had to prove himself as a substitute player. Despite setbacks, he eventually earned his place as Fnatic’s starting top laner and went on to win LEC championships and compete at Worlds.

When asked what he would tell his younger self, Bwipo humorously mentioned a regretful pick in the 2018 World Championship Finals. But he quickly shifted to a more serious tone, expressing gratitude for his journey and the lessons he learned along the way.

Both CoreJJ and Bwipo are inspiring examples of perseverance and resilience in the face of adversity. Their stories remind us that the hardships we face can ultimately lead to greater success and personal growth.

Looking Ahead: CoreJJ, Bwipo, and Team Liquid’s Quest for an LCS Championship

CoreJJ, Bwipo, and the rest of Team Liquid are currently competing in the LCS Spring Split playoffs. They are determined to secure their fifth LCS championship and continue their climb to the top.
