Legendary LoL ADC achieves historic feat in LCK regular season

Dplus KIA’s ADC Deft sets LCK record for highest average damage per minute

When it comes to the best ADC players in League of Legends history, one name stands out: Dplus KIA’s superstar marksman Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu. This summer, Deft broke an impressive LCK record, finishing the 2023 Summer Split with the highest average damage per minute in the league’s history. According to Oracle’s Elixir, Deft recorded a staggering 730 DPM during the regular season, accounting for 31% of his team’s total damage and 34.8% of their total kills, ultimately leading DK to the playoffs once again.

Deft also held the top spot for highest DPM last season, with an average of 664 damage per minute on Lucian. He played a significant role in DK’s fourth-place finish with a 12-6 record in the spring split.

In addition to his record-setting damage output, it’s worth noting that Deft achieved this feat without relying heavily on resources or a high gold share from his team. Throughout the season, he only required 27.1% of DK’s total gold share, falling behind five other LCK marksmen in this regard.

Despite having fewer farming opportunities and resources, Deft made the most out of his situation by displaying exceptional positioning and timing in teamfights. Throughout the season, he showcased his mastery on champions like Aphelios, Kai’Sa, Ashe, and Draven, expertly avoiding enemy abilities while maximizing damage output.

DK prepares for playoffs against T1

As DK heads into the playoffs, they will heavily rely on Deft’s outstanding performance in the bottom lane. In the first round, DK will face off against T1, promising a clash of titans. You can catch these two teams in action tomorrow at 3am CT.
