LEC’s week 6: Rogue faces G2 Esports in the featured match

G2 Esports Faces Rogue in Match of the Week

Week six of the 2020 LEC Summer Split brings another intense matchup for G2 Esports. This time, they will be going up against Rogue in the highly anticipated match of the week.

G2 Esports, the perennial LEC champions, are coming off a loss to MAD Lions, the top team in Europe. The rising stars of MAD Lions showcased superior individual play and strategic macro last week, highlighting the underwhelming performance of G2 this season. In comparison to their past splits, G2 hasn’t been as impressive.

G2 currently has the fourth-highest number of team deaths in the LEC, with a total of 131 deaths among its roster. Their performance has been less dominant compared to previous seasons, marked by uncharacteristic mistakes such as being caught out in side lanes or overcommitting to risky plays.

Rogue, on the other hand, has been on fire throughout the first half of the Summer Split. This young and up-and-coming team has exceeded expectations with a 9-2 record so far. However, they haven’t managed to defeat G2 or MAD Lions yet.

Rogue’s team statistics reflect their strong performance this season. They have the highest team KDA, the fewest deaths among all rosters in the LEC, the highest first tower rate, the highest Baron control rate, and the highest jungle control. Their focus on objective control has been exceptional and will likely play a crucial role in this weekend’s matchup.

If G2 wants to stand a chance against Rogue, they need to increase their tempo and take the fight to their opponents. G2’s fans should hope to see an aggressive playstyle from their team, actively seeking early objectives.

Be sure to catch all the LEC action when week six kicks off on Friday, July 24 at 11am CT. G2 will face off against Rogue at 12pm CT on Saturday, July 25.
