LeBlanc makes debut this LCK split in HLE vs LSB match

Chovy showcases non-meta pick, LeBlanc, in HLE’s victory against LSB

While most competitive mid laners in League of Legends stick to popular champion picks, Hanwha Life Esports’ Chovy always looks to bring out unconventional choices and highlight his mechanical skills.

In today’s match against Liiv SANDBOX, Chovy surprised everyone by picking LeBlanc, a champion that has been pushed out of the meta due to recent item changes. This was LeBlanc’s first appearance in the 2021 LCK Spring Split. HLE ended up winning the series 2-1 against LSB, with Chovy performing exceptionally on Azir and Sion in the other two matches.

Morgan and Chovy were the MVPs of the game. Morgan, the top laner, used Mordekaiser in the third game to counter the enemy Irelia. Although he fell behind in the laning phase, he redeemed himself with his teamfight performance. Chovy’s Azir play was outstanding, earning him his 10th MVP vote of the split.

The showdown began with LSB displaying a great performance, showing signs of life despite their last-place standing. They secured an early gold lead and maintained it until the late game. However, once HLE acquired the Elder Dragon, the game turned in their favor.

Chovy’s LeBlanc performance in the second game kept HLE in the game initially. But despite his effort, the opponents built a massive 11,000-gold lead and leveled the series.

In the final game, LSB once again secured an early gold lead but had a weaker team composition compared to HLE. As the match progressed to the teamfight stage, HLE overpowered LSB with their tanky composition.

Following this victory, HLE remains in third place in the 2021 LCK Spring Split standings with a record of 10-5. They have secured a spot in the playoffs but need to maintain their focus to win the remaining games. Each win will play a crucial role in their seeding for the playoff bracket. They have upcoming matches against KT Rolster, Fredit BRION, and T1.
