League’s Sentinels of Light event is now live, bringing a fresh interactive story, skins, and game mode

The Sentinels of Light: League of Legends Unleashes Epic Cross-Game Event

The Sentinels of Light are gearing up for their biggest battle yet against the Ruination and Viego’s corrupted forces. And it’s time for players to join the fight and restore light to Runeterra. In this year’s most ambitious endeavor, League of Legends presents an interactive narrative as part of the cross-game event.

The Sentinels of Light event builds on the interface introduced last year with the Spirit Blossom event in League. Through the League client, players can immerse themselves in the ongoing battle between the Sentinels and Viego’s Ruination forces. They will have the opportunity to interact with the Sentinels of Light, including Lucian, Senna, and the upcoming champion Akshan. Together with these iconic champions, players will progress through the Rise of the Sentinels story as weekly chapters are released. Whether they have purchased the event pass or not, all players can participate in these interactions and advance the story.

As part of this event, a range of previously-revealed canon skins will be released gradually. These skins feature the Sentinels battling the darkness and the champions who fell victim to the Ruination. On July 8, Sentinel Vayne, Irelia, Riven, Olaf, Diana, and Ruined Pantheon (with the Ascended Prestige version) will be launched alongside the Sentinels of Light event. On July 22, Sentinel Graves, Pyke, and Rengar will join the fray, followed by Ruined Miss Fortune.

Similar to previous League events, there will be an event pass and shop available. Players can earn currency by completing weekly missions and premium missions obtained with the event pass. Unbound Thresh will debut in the event shop on July 29, and it may become available for purchase in the regular skin shop later.

Alongside the Sentinels of Light event, a new game mode called Ultimate Spellbook will be launched. In this limited-time mode, players can select one of three random champions’ ultimates (chosen from a small pool available within the mode) to use in place of their first summoner spell. Ultimate Spellbook will only be available during this event, and its return in the future is uncertain.

The Sentinels of Light event in League is part of Riot’s multi-game experience, featuring Ultimate Spellbook, captivating narratives, and enticing new skins. The event starts today, allowing players to immerse themselves in the story of the Sentinels and earn event-exclusive currency to spend in the event shop. Don’t miss out—the event will run until August 10.
