League’s Hotfix Updates to Boost Akali’s E and Ultimate, Yuumi’s Q and E

The latest patch of League of Legends brings together a ninja and a cat, but it appears that the result is not as expected.

In a tweet today, League lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter announced that a hotfix is on the way for champions Akali and Yuumi after they didn’t meet the developers’ targets in Patch 10.3. The hotfix aims to address some of the abilities of these champions that fell short of expectations.

Here are the changes that are coming:

Akali

  • Damage from ability E changed from 40-160 to 50-190.
  • Cooldown for ultimate ability R changed from 160-100 to 120-60.
  • Damage from R1 ability changed from 85-215 to 125-325.

Yuumi

  • Base damage for ability Q changed from 40-165 to 40-190.
  • Base heal for ability E changed from 70-190 to 70-210.

In the previous patch, Akali was often picked or banned in ranked and competitive play, so Riot needed to reduce her power. However, it seems that the assassin may have been nerfed too much.

On the other hand, the changes to Yuumi in Patch 10.3 were intended to improve the damage output of the cute kitty. But according to Champion.gg, her win rate remains around 48 percent, suggesting that these changes did not significantly impact her performance.

Scruffy will provide an update on the release of the micropatch “soon.”
