League of Legends World Championship 2020: Play-in Stage Updates of Scores, Standings, and Results
The 2020 League of Legends World Championship begins with the play-in stage on Sept. 25. This stage features 10 teams divided into two groups and four subsequent qualifiers.
Representatives from 10 regions will participate in the play-ins. These include teams from China’s LPL, Europe’s LEC, North America’s LCS, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia’s PCS, Brazil’s CBLOL, CIS’ LCL, Japan’s LJL, Latin America’s LLA, Oceania’s OPL, and Turkey’s TCL.
Each group will play a round-robin tournament, with the first-place teams advancing to the group stage. The third and fourth place teams in each group will have a best-of-five series. The winner of this matchup will then face the second-place team from the opposing group in another best-of-five, while the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
The favorites for the play-ins are LGD Gaming from China, MAD Lions from Europe, and Team Liquid from North America.
