League of Legends unveils Aurelion Sol’s latest abilities

Aurelion Sol’s Gameplay Update for League of Legends Revealed

Aurelion Sol, the powerful cosmic being in the League of Legends universe, has often struggled to find his place in the game’s competitive scene. However, in 2023, Riot Games has unveiled an extensive gameplay update for Aurelion Sol that aims to maintain his identity while modernizing his playstyle.

Whether you’re battling on the Summoner’s Rift or the Howling Abyss, this new update will empower you to unleash your otherworldly powers as Runeterra’s Star Forger. Let’s take a look at Aurelion Sol’s new abilities, coming to League of Legends in Patch 13.3.

Passive – Cosmic Creator

Aurelion Sol’s damaging abilities now grant Stardust, which permanently enhances his abilities.

Q – Breath of Light

Aurelion Sol channels starfire to damage the first enemy hit and deals reduced damage to nearby foes. Channeling for longer periods grants a burst of additional damage. Leveling up this ability increases its damage to champions and range, while Stardust also enhances the burst’s damage.

W – Astral Flight

In classic space dragon fashion, Aurelion Sol can fly over terrain to a target location. This reveals him to nearby enemies, but he can cast other abilities while in flight. While flying, Breath of Light has no cooldown or max channel duration and deals increased damage. Astral Flight’s cooldown is reduced when Aurelion Sol kills a champion he recently damaged. Stardust increases the ability’s max range.

E – Singularity

Aurelion Sol summons a black hole at a target location that damages enemies and pulls them towards the center. The center of the black hole can execute enemies below a certain health threshold. This ability grants Stardust per second for each enemy caught in its area-of-effect. Stardust increases the size of Singularity and the execute threshold.

R – Falling Star / The Skies Descend

Falling Star: Aurelion Sol throws a star from the skies, dealing damage and stunning enemies. This ability grants Stardust for each enemy hit, and Stardust increases Falling Star’s size. After collecting 75 Stardust, Falling Star upgrades to The Skies Descend.

The Skies Descend: A giant star is pulled from outer space, increasing the ability’s impact size and damage to champions. Instead of stunning enemies, The Skies Descend knocks up all enemy champions and creates a shockwave that damages and slows opponents. Stardust enhances the ability’s area-of-effect.

Aurelion Sol’s new abilities are set to release in Patch 13.3, which will go live on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
