League of Legends Fans Disappointed with Volibear’s Artistic Direction, But Free Skin Offered
In a recent Dev Video, Riot developer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles discussed the plans for champions in season 2020, including the visual and gameplay update (VGU) for Volibear.
Many League of Legends fans were hoping that Volibear’s new character model would follow the Eldritch horror theme from the short story “Silence for the Damned.” However, Riot devs made the decision to stick with a venerable, but savage, demigod look.
But fear not! Riot is planning to release an Eldritch horror skin for Volibear and it will be given for free to any player who already owns the champion’s other skins. Additionally, players who purchase Volibear during the update patch will also receive the skin for free.
For those who are unable to purchase Volibear during the update, the Eldritch horror skin will be available for purchase in the store.
And if you’re still craving more horror, Fiddlesticks’ rework is sure to provide it. According to a recent post on the Dev Corner, Fiddlesticks’ abilities will be centered around its fear mechanic, aiming to frighten and panic enemies.
Riot will also be announcing a poll for players to vote on which champions will receive updates in 2021, following the successful reworks of previous champions.
