League of Legends players recognize Mythic items’ issues and Riot Games might finally be paying attention

Mythic Items in League of Legends may Finally Get Some Much-Needed Changes

League of Legends players have been expressing their frustration with Mythic items for quite some time now. These items, introduced during the early days of the 2021 preseason, were meant to provide players with multiple build options centered around a core item. However, as the meta constantly evolves with each patch and season, these Mythic items have become irrelevant and no longer offer much value to players. In fact, they have become more of a hindrance than a benefit.

Players have been vocal about their discontent with Mythic items in various online communities, including Reddit. Many have called for these items to be changed or removed entirely. Despite some changes made to Mythic items in League Patch 13.10, players still find them restrictive and lacking in value. The fact that they are considered “mandatory” in some instances only adds to the frustration.

Fortunately, the Riot Games development team is aware of these concerns and has been actively looking for solutions. Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, the Riot balance boss, even discussed the issue in a recent interview, acknowledging that Mythic items didn’t fulfill their intended purpose and didn’t offer players the choices they had hoped for. The developers themselves are unsatisfied with the current state of Mythic items and are planning to make necessary changes in the future.

While we don’t have a specific timeline for when these changes will be implemented, it’s reassuring to know that Riot Games shares the players’ concerns. Hopefully, we can expect some improvements to Mythic items soon.
